What Can I Expect from Deep TMS?

During your Deep TMS session at TMS Therapy Center, you will sit in a comfortable chair in one of our private treatment rooms as we gently place a cushioned helmet over your head that is equipped with patented H-Coil technology embedded in the underside of it. The H-Coil utilizes electromagnetic fields to deliver magnetic pulses deep into various regions of the brain to alter its neural activity. This coil is uniquely shaped to target a wider and deeper area of your brain compared to traditional TMS. As a result, Deep TMS can alleviate symptoms of multiple mental health conditions. The entire treatment generally lasts for about 20 minutes and does not require any anesthesia or lengthy downtime.

 

 

What Can I Expect after TMS?

Patients typically stay awake and alert during their TMS session, which lasts about 30 — 60 minutes. One of the key advantages of TMS is the ability to immediately return to daily activities, including driving, immediately after a session. While some individuals may experience a mild headache or scalp discomfort, these side effects are generally minimal. On very rare occasions, some rare side effects, such as minor seizures or minimal hearing loss (if adequate ear protection is not used), can occur. What Are the Side Effects of Deep TMS?
